Beloved symbol of the city
Kok Tobe Park is a popular place for romantic dates and family walks. It is located on the peak of the “Kok Tobe” mountain at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level. From the city center, you can reach it in just 10 minutes by car, but it is much more interesting to take a ride on the famous cable car, admiring the breathtaking views of the city. From the top of the mountain you can see not only city landscapes, but also breathtaking panoramas of the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau.
Famous TV Tower
At the top of the mountain is that very TV tower which can be seen in all postcard photos of the city and is one of the symbols of the southern capital. The TV tower is one of the tallest in the world – its height is 371,5 meters, and together with the mountain it reaches 1,452 meters above sea level. Unfortunately, the entrance to the tower is closed to tourists, so you can only admire it from the side.
A park for walks
A park pleasant for walking and entertainment is located at the foot of the TV tower. In it, you can find a mini-zoo, take a picture with a group of Beatles, ride rides, visit a mirror maze, walk a rope park or go down at a speed of 45 km/h on the Fast Coaster sled. And, of course, do not forget to take a ride on the Ferris wheel and admire the city from a height of 1130 meters above sea level!
In 2001 in Kok Tobe Park a group of enthusiasts established the first CIS monument dedicated to “Beatles”. In addition to the observation platforms and restaurants, the park has a lot of entertainment for the little ones, and for fans of extreme sports.
