On the eve of the opening of direct flights between Kazakhstan and Oman (Muscat-Almaty), on February 26, 2020, the “Day of Kazakhstan Tourism” was held in Muscat for the first time. The event was attended by Advisor to the Minister of Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman A.Al-Busaidi, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of Almaty K.Akylbekov, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman, Kazakh and Omani travel companies, as well as the media. Within the framework of the event, the tourism potential of Kazakhstan was presented, which became an opening for the Omani market. The travel companies of the two countries expressed interest in mutual cooperation and ensuring the tourist flow between the countries.
During the welcoming speech, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Oman N.Mukhametali, noting the positive dynamics of the development of bilateral relations, expressed hope that the event will have a positive impact on the activation of bilateral tourism cooperation. Also during his speech, Adviser to the Minister of Tourism of Oman A.Al-Busaidi noted that the Omani side is working to facilitate the visa regime for citizens of Kazakhstan on a parity basis, which will give an additional impetus to the development of tourism.
