Even those who prefer summer heat to snow sometimes want to escape the
heat to the water. And not just to lie motionless on the beach, but actively
spend the weekend. How and where can you do this in Almaty? We’ll tell you.
Sup-boarding:
Standing on a SUP and swimming is a moderately difficult task. And that means you’ll definitely succeed. Even if you’ve never done this before and can’t boast of athletic endurance. The main thing is not to forget to wear a life jacket. This is a mandatory rule for everyone, including Olympic swimming champions. It’s about your safety.
You can master SUP in Almaty on the Pervomaisky ponds or Kapchagay. Water walks at dawn and sunset are especially popular: a minimum of scorching sun rays, a maximum of Instagram views.
The activity is designed for people of all ages, including children.

Wakeboarding:
Extreme people, hello! You’ve probably heard of wakeboarding. Most of all, riding this board is like water skiing slalom, with elements of acrobatics and jumps. And also a little bit like surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding.
Is it difficult? There are two disciplines in wakeboarding: boat wakeboarding and cable wakeboarding. If the first one requires some training, then cable wakeboarding can be mastered by anyone.
You can get on a wake in Almaty in the warm season. Just find the address of Gagarin wake park on the map and come. You can rent equipment and find a coach right there.

Rafting:
What’s important in rafting? The presence of a mountain river nearby. And in Almaty and its surroundings, everything is fine with this. All that remains is to decide and get into the raft. After completing the briefing in advance. Because during the descent, the actions of everyone sitting in the raft are important.
It’s also important to listen to the commands: to the right, to the left, so as not to run into a boulder or a sharp rocky rapid. Be able to find a reliable and safe path in the mountain stream that will lead the boat to calm waters. And experience an emotional explosion when you managed to maintain balance on the rapid and stay in the raft.

Raft:
See the Tamgaly-Tas tract from the water? Go along the Ili River, stop in the most picturesque and hard-to-reach places for hikers? Just choose a rafting trip. No strict schedule or timetable. And also a complete detox from social networks (mobile communication on the river is there, but the Internet will appear intermittently). Sleep, cook food in the field, take baths right overboard the raft and look at the stars all night. Haven’t we all dreamed about this at least once?

Diving:
You’ll be surprised, but Almaty even has its own diving club. The guys train, and for those who want, they conduct pleasant introductory and entertaining dives in the pool. Shallow depth, modern equipment (you can rent it there), professional instructors. What else do you need? A desire to spend time in cool, clear water. And if you like it, you can always take the intro dive course there.
