On July 13-14, Almaty will host the international 3×3 Basketball Tournament FIBA World Tour Almaty-2024.
The mini-basketball tournament promises to be one of the most interesting events of this year. The competition will be held in Almaty on Abay Square in front of the Palace of the Republic and will bring together the best players from all over the world.
3×3 is the standardized version of FIBA streetball and is played all over the world. The format is dynamic and entertaining.
12 top FIBA teams will participate in the tournament, including Partizan and UB (Serbia), Raudondvaris (Lithuania), Lausanne (Switzerland), Vienna (Austria). It is the first time in history, when two Kazakh teams will perform on the World Tour court – Almaty (Team Mao) and Atyrau (Western Wolves).
The competition will last over two game days. On July 13th, the team is drawn up for the main group games (starts at 15:00), on the 14th the winner is determined (starts at 18:00).
Shoot-out Contest (three-point shooting competition) and Dunk Contest (dunking competition), in which Kazakh dunker Ruslan Ligai will participate are also on the program.
Specially for the tournament, temporary infrastructure is being created that meets the requirements of the International Basketball Federation: a specialized 3×3 court, spectator stands, LED screens, technical towers, Fan Village, where various activities will be held for visitors during these two days.
The tournament is held on the initiative of the Governor’s office of Almaty city. The organizer is the promoter Pilot Sports 3×3. World Tour Almaty 2024 will be broadcast on the PilotSport2024 YouTube channel, as well as on the Qazsport TV channel.
