Restaurant “Light” is located in a historic building in the center of Almaty. Mukhtar Auezov lived at the house at 83 Kabanbai Batyr, and Konstantin Paustovsky and Samuil Marshak stayed there. Hence the name, which alludes to the “light” of the bohemian Soviet Alma-Ata. In the “Light” there is no emphasis on one particular cuisine. Every night, bakers bake fresh bread based on three types of flour (white, whole grain and spelled).

The specialty of the restaurant is that the food is prepared exclusively from local ingredients, the cooks of the restaurant are personally familiar with every farmer and butcher.
