First Mall in Kazakhstan
The shopping center is located on one of the busiest streets of the city – it was called the Trading street in the era of the Verniy and has always been the center of business activity in the city. The creation of such a large shopping center was an important event not only for Almaty, but also for the entire country of Kazakhstan.
In Soviet times, it was the main center of commerce in the country, where any deficit product could be obtained. Celebratory events were held at TSUM/CUS, scenes of the film "Needle" were filmed here.
