Сonference “Visit Almaty 2019”
The main purpose of this event is the presentation of the city of Almaty as a new tourist destination and the promotion of tourism by attracting shopping tourists. Thus, more than 50 local tour operators and more than 26 local media were the first to learn about the launch of the Tax Free pilot project in the Esentai Mall. The speakers at the press conference were: investment consultant of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China – Sultan Kinzhakulov, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of Almaty – Kalibek Akylbekov, CEO of Capital Partners (Esentaimall) – Vladimir Sarybekov and Vice President for Development in New Markets of Global Blue – Birgitta Folk.

The Tourism Department has widely and in detail revealed the attractiveness of the city of Almaty as an interesting tourist destination, noting the active development of the city over the past 5 years and presenting all the sights that may be of interest to every guest of the city. The participants of the event were most interested in ski activities and a variety of natural landscapes. The representative of Capital Partners spoke about the favorable economic impact of TaxFree on the development of shopping tourism, as well as about activities aimed at improving the comfort of tourists’ stay.

During the press conference, B2B meetings were held between Kazakh and Chinese travel agencies and tour operators, the event was concluded with a solemn press cocktail, where the main influencers of the tourism sector were invited.
