The house was built in 1890 during the time of the city of Verny. The customer was the city Duma. A Russian architect P. Gourde built it in the Petersburg style.

The Petersburg style has taken root in Verny due to the popularity of the city of St. Petersburg not only in the USSR, but also in many European countries. The predominance of plastered brick in front of the stone in many structures of the city of Verny, white warrant parts and a colored background. When designing the school, the architect took into account all building codes that are mandatory for educational buildings of the time. He insisted on replacing the stone stairs with wood, as well as painting the walls in two colors: the upper part of the wall should be light green, while the lower part of the wall should be dark “to avoid pollution”. In addition, Gourde recommended the installation of ventilation pipes in order to better ventilate the classes. In addition, in order to protect from damage to the wooden structures of the building from moisture, it was proposed to replace wooden castings with iron.
