3200 meters above sea level
"Shymbulak" ski resort is unique in its location - in just 1 hour, you can get from Almaty city center to its highest point and drink coffee in the highest bar in the CIS. Here you can find snow even in the 30-degree summer heat. In summer, the average air temperature is +20 C. In winter it’s around -7 C. And there are 300 sunny days a year!
An athlete paradise
This high-mountain resort is a favorite active leisure place for Almaty residents and guests of the southern capital. 20 km of tracks waiting for ski lovers and snowboarding enthusiasts. During the winter period, 14 runs and a training slope operate in the Fanpark. According to the levels of difficulty for skiing, the complex has 5 “black” tracks (expert skiing level), 6 “red” tracks (advanced level) and 3 “blue” tracks (medium level). For beginners, the training slope is used ("green" track).

On Shymbulak, you can have a good time even if you can’t ski or snowboard. An all-day entertainment for the whole family is provided by cafes and restaurants with excellent cuisine, an observation deck with powerful binoculars that rotate 360 degrees and a playground. For those who want to enjoy the mountain silence and admire the snowy slopes, the resort offers high-class hotels.
Extreme summer recreation
The resort is open all year round. Even in the warm season, when the mountains are no longer suitable for skiing, you can find a lot of interesting things here. From May to October, the resort offers such extreme sport activities as riding a buggy, cycling down the mountain, a rope park, paragliding and the Chimba mountain children’s camp.
