The largest park of the city

The territory of the park is 73 hectares of plantings. More than 11 thousand trees and shrubs, flowers and herbs are stunning in their diversity. Traditional oak alleys and an exotic “Japanese Garden”, flower beds and lawns where you can sit and have a picnic – the park has long been a favorite destination of citizens. The city festivals – “Almaty – a city of flowers”, “Puppet Carnival” and “Apple Festival” all take place here.

президентский парк

Inspired by the city itself

The park was built, as the name suggests, at the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Construction began in 2001 and lasted for 10 years. The main idea inspiring the builders of the park was the combination of the natural landscape of Almaty and the scientific achievements of the 21st century. The park is located between two major urban arteries: Navoi street and Al-Farabi Ave. You can easily get there both by public and private transport.

At the entrance to the park you will be greeted by luxurious fountains that light up in the evenings with a rainbow of colored lights. By the way, the fountain located behind the park gates is the largest in our southern capital! Going further along the flowering alleys you can find birch groves, thickets of huge firs and pleasant quiet green meadows. In the southwestern corner of the park you will find a gazebo with a viewing platform, from where you can enjoy a fascinating view of the city and the Tien Shan mountains.
